The UC Davis Business Law Journal is run by dedicated law students who are committed to providing current and valuable legal and business analysis. Three distinguishing qualities contribute to the Journal’s success. The BLJ was the first business law journal in the nation to electronically publish articles written by professionals, academics and law students using a concise, journalistic style. While traditional law journals are heavy on academic theory and light on practical use of the UC Davis Business Law Journal is a tool for users to obtain quality legal and business analysis that is easily accessible and best of all, succinct. Our club provides a wide range of information, help, resources, and fellowship for students who would like to attend dental school. our club offers presentations by various local dentists from all fields of dentistry, workshops and presentations by admission directors from a number of dental schools including UCSF, UOP, and Western University, and other workshops including an application workshop, interview workshop, DAT workshop, and AADSAS workshop. Membership in our club also included a $100 discount on the DAT Kaplan prep course offered at the Davis Kaplan Center on E street in Davis.

Law Brigades currently operate in Panama with projects that complement Business, Environmental and Architecture Brigades to alleviate poverty and foster human rights and community development. Minority Association of Pre-Health Students (MAPS) Help minority pre-medical students matriculate into medical school by supporting future underrepresented students addressing community needs and increasing the number of clinically excellent, culturally competent and socially conscious physicans. We offer mentorships, volunteer experience and valuable workshops.

Molecular and Cellular Biology Club (MCB)

The MCB Club is a group of students who are interested in learning more about the world of molecular cell biology! We meet bimonthly to discuss events we may participate in, talk about recent research and sometimes even listen to guest speakers! It’s also a great opportunity for students to get involved in the life sciences. Although we are open to any major, the club’s primary emphasis is cell biology, biochemistry and genetics. Students involved in the club can participate in various activities ranging from lab experience to community service.

Neurology and Neurosurgery SIG is a group that aims to promote and expand interest and awareness about the fields of neurology and neurosurgery. We plan to achieve our goals by inviting guest lecturers to share their experiences in these fields as well and sharing their career paths. We also plan to provide shadowing opportunities to students to further cultivate their interest in neurology and neurosurgery.

Nursing Club

The mission of this club is to prepare and train future nurses to become compassionate leaders and active servers of their communities. Our club is committed to providing leadership and volunteer work opportunities in and outside of the hospital arena to advance the practice of nursing within fun, collaborative environments. It is also our goal to bring in guest speakers (nurses, admissions officers, Kaplan representatives, etc.) to provide educational resources, to advice students, and to answer questions.

We have two goals: to encourage highly qualified UC Davis medical students to consider ophthalmology as a career and to ensure and to ensure that all medical students who are interested in ophthalmology are to match by facilitating research and faculty interaction.

Orthopaedics/Sports Medicine Interest Group

The primary objective of our student interest group is to accommodate the widespread interest in Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine of first-, second- and third- year medical students at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine. To address the questions and concerns of this student population, we will schedule lunchtime and evening meetings to host speakers in medical specialties such as Orthopaedic Surgery, Family Medicine/Sports Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Oxidative Stress and Health

To foster inter-disciplinary collaboration and sharing of ideas to further the understanding and research of graduate students interested in all studies related to reactive oxygen species, reactive nitrosative species and/or oxidative/nitrosative stress conditions of or relating to pulmonary or particulate origins.



Pediatrics Student Interest Group (Peds SIG)

PED-SIG is a student organization dedicated to promoting awareness and interest in working with children in a medical setting.Our mission:- Explore opportunities for working with children in the healthcare field.- Promote interaction with our community’s children and families through volunteer activities.- Establish mentorship networks for first and second year medical students.- Host lunchtime presentations, residency panels and dinners with physicians.- Organize workshops with practicing physicians and vaccination clinics.- Provide information about available research opportunities.- Participate in the annual Heart Beat Run.

The pharmacology and Toxicology Graduate Group (PTXGG) provides a venue for academic support, social networking and mentoring to its graduate student members through meetings, social events and poster symposia.

The Pre-med AMSA Club at the University of California, Davis was founded in 1985 as an undergraduate AMSA chapter in the country. In keeping with the philosophy of AMSA, the club seeks to provide insightful information for those who are interested in pursuing a medical career. Through guest speakers, community service, and interactions with medical students, the Pre-med AMSA Club provides information that may help fellow pre-medical students maximize their candidacy in a medical career and create a sincere appreciation for the practice and art of medicine.

Pre-Physical Therapy Club

The purpose of the Pre-Physical Club is to provide a group of individuals who are all interested in pursuing a career in physical therapy. The club’s objectives are to provide guidance and information for individuals interested in applying for physical therapy school. The club will also help individuals find information on internships and job opening in the Davis and Sacramento areas. Finally, we plan on asking representatives from physical therapy programs in California to come to UC Davis and host presentations for all interested parties.

The Psychiatry Student Interest Group was formed to bring resources and opportunities to medical students interested in careers in psychiatric medicine as well as to provide information to others about the field of psychiatry. We will hold movie nights, a general introduction to psychiatry talk, resident and attending panels, a faculty/student dinner, and a residency interview talk.




Radiation Oncology Student Interest Group (Radonc SIG)

The radiation oncology student’s interest group strives to inform and educate who are interested in translational research, technological innovation, and clinical application of radiotherapy.




Radiology SIG (Student Interest Group)

The purpose of this organization is to cultivate interest in the field of radiology amongst the medical student population and serve as a resource for individuals expressing such interest. The RSIG will:1. Host events to introduce students to the field of radiology and its various subspecialties.2. Provide avenues to attain useful information for students who are in the process of applying to residency programs in radiology.3. Assist students in the location and selection of mentors (current residents, staff, etc.) and research opportunities.




Runway Designers Club (Fashion Club or RDC)

The purpose of the Runway Designers Club is to organize and produce two non-profit fashion shows featuring UCD Design students' work. There are two main shows: one during the annual UCD Picnic Day and one in San Francisco. Other activities include fundraising events to raise money for the shows which includes rental of the venues, sound equipment, lighting effects and more.

SCAVMA is the Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association and is an organization dedicated to fostering unity among veterinary students within and between the 28 veterinary schools of the United States. At UC Davis, SCAVMA also provides funding for all university-registered veterinary school clubs, supplies monetary support for student travel associated with educational endeavors, and hosts information sessions on topics ranging from managing finances to finding internships and residencies.

SIFE students learn practical business ideas and implements them to better the community. We take what we are learning in the classroom and apply it in projects. The wide ranges of projects revolve and six different criteria: Business Ethics, Environmental Sustainability Entrepreneurship, Market Economics, Success Skills and Financial Literacy. Students will develop, manage and lead projects that will resort in economic development in our local and global communities. SIFE, being the largest student club in the country and the world, provides a tremendous amount of corporate support and enables the students to partner with professionals on large projects.




Surgery Student Interest Group (Surgery SIG)

The purpose of the Surgery Student Interest Group is to promote interest and awareness about general surgery and its subspecialty branches. With help from the Surgery faculty at UCDMC, we offer a one-on-one mentoring program where medical students can gain early clinical experience in surgery as well as opportunities to become involved in surgical research projects.




Synthetic Biology Club at Davis

The Synthetic Biology Club aims to educate members about the scope and capabilities of synthetic biology as well as stimulate new ideas in this relatively new and exciting field. Some examples of synthetic biology projects include biofuels, drug delivery systems, environmental cleanup agents, and cancer fighting systems. Through peer and advisor knowledge, lab familiarity, and technological aid, the Synthetic Biology Club will spread the word about synthetic biology and educate the next generation of synthetic biologists.

The Vet Aide Club provides its members with opportunities to gain practical, hands on experience in various aspects in the fields of veterinary medicine and animal science. The VAC offers internships at the UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH) and facilitates internships elsewhere. The VAC also provides information about other pre-vet and animal-related opportunities as well as hosts networking events, social events, and field trips.




Veterinary Business Management Associtation (VBMA)

The UCD School of Veterinary Medicine’s chapter of the VBMA is dedicated to increasing business acumen and providing networking opportunities to veterinarians and veterinary students. It is important for practicing veterinarians to be proficient in many skills beyond patient care, and it is the goal of the VBMA to promote business management issues (as well as many others including personal finance management, conflict resolution, stress management, etc.) to the veterinary community in and around UC Davis.
