What can help a hangover?

  • Pickled or Umebushi Plums - taste salty and sour, and are packed with edible shiso leaves. Due to their salty and contracted flavor (yang), they're considered effective by the Japanese (and Macrobiotic Practitioners) in counteracting the effects of the overconsumption of alcohol or sugar (yin). Find them in your local health food store, whole food market or Asian market.  
  • Tomato, Lemon or Carrot Juice - will help revitalize your liver from being adversly impacted by overconsumption of alcohol
  • Water - alcohol is dehydrating, re-hydrate yourself with efficient amounts of good ol' H20
  • Not over-drinking one's capacity
